Bruxism

Dentist Natalia Gadzinska – for detailed information please contact the registration desk.

1. Special silicone overlays of the Trainer System: TMJ, relieving the bite.

2. ADDITIONALLY, treatment of bruxism with BOTOX! As the most effective method of eliminating excessive muscle tension causing unconscious, nocturnal teeth clenching!

How does Botox work on muscles?

During the procedure, the doctor introduces botulinum toxin into the masticatory muscles using an injection. This causes the muscles to relax and prevents their over-reactivity.

The effect lasts from 6 to 8 months. During the action of the preparation, the muscles are weakened, the tension in the jaw is reduced, and our face looks slimmer because the muscles lose their volume.

How is the procedure performed?
After conducting an interview, the doctor will create a treatment plan individually tailored to the needs of your face, selecting the appropriate amount of botulinum toxin. Then, Botox is administered into previously designated places in the masticatory muscle using a thin, short needle. The procedure is quick and simple. The procedure takes from a dozen or so minutes to half an hour. It is classified as a “lunchtime procedure” because it leaves virtually no traces. The procedure is not painful. You can feel slight stinging and stretching at the injection site.

Procedure after the procedure
The procedure is safe and leaves no traces. Redness may occur, which disappears after about an hour. It should be remembered that for the next few weeks, treatments using radio waves, deep infrared or laser treatments, using a solarium or sauna are not recommended. They will weaken and shorten the duration of the preparation’s action.

When can you expect the effects of the procedure?
The effect is achieved within about a week after the procedure.

How long does the effect last and how often should the procedure be repeated?
The effect of Botox treatment lasts from six to eight months. It is good to repeat the treatment because the duration of action and the intervals between subsequent treatments are longer. After the preparation has been effective, the masticatory muscles will start working normally again, and we will definitely feel increased pressure in the jaw.

Are there any side effects?
After the treatment, there may be slight redness and delicate puncture marks.

What are the contraindications to the use of Botox?
Contraindications to the Botox procedure include: pregnancy, use of antibiotics, flu conditions, neuromuscular conduction disorders (myasthenia gravis, Lambert Eaton syndrome), blood clotting disorders and the use of anticoagulants (including aspirin).

Is Botox injections for you?

Clinics around the world have been using Botox for aesthetic medicine procedures since 2002, and it has been used in other areas of medicine for over 20 years. Botox is a proven substance in numerous procedures. It only works temporarily, and small amounts of the preparation are used. Repeating the injection procedure does not result in adding up the doses in the body. If your problem is bruxism, just a few minutes in the doctor’s office and you can get rid of it!

The procedure at Gadzińscy Centrum Stomatologiczne is performed by an aesthetic medicine doctor – Dr. Magdalena Gniewkowska-Gorczyńska.

The doctor graduated from the Medical Academy of Warsaw in 1990, specializing in internal medicine. She has been involved in aesthetic medicine for several years, and graduated from the Postgraduate School of Aesthetic Medicine at the Polish Medical Society, obtaining the title of doctor of aesthetic medicine. She has also completed many theoretical and practical courses in the field of aesthetic and anti-aging medicine.

We would like to inform you that in our office it is possible to meet with the doctor and perform aesthetic medicine procedures, including the treatment of bruxism with botulinum toxin. For detailed information, please contact us. 61 861 55 25
